MAKE LUNCHTIME COUNT

More Than Playground
Supervision.

Lunchtime is a significant part of every child's school day. When children have positive ways to spend that time, the playground can become a place to move, play, connect and enjoy being with their friends.

Schoolz Out works alongside schools to provide structured activities that complement free play and give more children opportunities to get involved.

THE SCHOOLZ OUT APPROACH Give children something
positive to do.

Rather than trying to control every minute of lunchtime, we create engaging opportunities children can choose to participate in.

WHAT LUNCHTIME CAN LOOK LIKE

More Ways to Play.
More Ways to Join In.

Provision can be shaped around your playground, facilities, age groups and school priorities, creating a lunchtime offer that works for your children.

Active Games

Simple, engaging games that get children moving without requiring a full PE lesson or formal sports session.

Sports Activities

Structured sport-based activities that give children opportunities to practise skills, play together and stay active.

+

Playground Challenges

Fun individual and group challenges that encourage children to participate, cooperate and try something different.

Inclusive Activities

Different ways to participate so lunchtime activity is not only aimed at the most confident or sporty children.

Positive Social Play

Activities that encourage children to play together, communicate, cooperate and build positive relationships.

School-Specific Provision

Activities can be adapted around particular year groups, playground areas, facilities and priorities within your school.

WHY IT MATTERS

A Better Playground
Changes More Than Lunch.

Lunchtime sits right in the middle of the school day. Giving children positive opportunities to play, move and connect can support the wider environment schools are working to create.

More Active Children

Engaging activities provide an easy way for more pupils to choose movement during their lunchtime.

Positive Use of Playground Time

Structured options give children purposeful activities alongside their normal opportunities for free play.

Positive Behaviour

Engaged children have clear opportunities to cooperate, communicate and play positively with others.

Ready for the Afternoon

A positive lunchtime experience can support the transition from the playground back into afternoon learning.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Built for the Playground.
Valuable Across the School Day.

ACTIVE

More opportunities for children to move, play and enjoy being physically active during their school day.

CONNECTED

Shared games and activities create opportunities for children to communicate, cooperate and play together.

ENGAGED

Children have purposeful choices available when they want something structured to do during lunchtime.

READY

A positive break in the middle of the day can help children make the transition back towards afternoon learning.

THE SCHOOLZ OUT STANDARD

It's Lunchtime.
Our Standards Don't Change.

Lunchtime provision might feel less formal than curriculum delivery, but the expectations we place on our team remain the same.

Children should receive engaging provision delivered by adults who understand professionalism, safeguarding, positive relationships and the responsibility that comes with working inside a school.

01

Engaging Delivery

Activities designed to encourage participation rather than children spending long periods waiting around.

02

Positive Coaching

Encouragement, clear expectations and an approach that helps children feel comfortable getting involved.

03

Professional Conduct

Our team understands that they are representing Schoolz Out and working as part of your wider school environment.

04

Safeguarding First

Children's welfare remains central to the way our team behaves, communicates and delivers provision.

HOW IT WORKS

Built Around
Your Lunchtime.

We don't arrive with one fixed programme and expect every school to fit around it. We start with how lunchtime currently works in your school.

01

Discover

We discuss your current lunchtime, playground spaces, year groups, staffing and any priorities you'd like the provision to support.

02

Plan

We agree how Schoolz Out can fit into your existing lunchtime structure and what activities are appropriate for your pupils.

03

Deliver

Our team provides structured, positive activities while working alongside the wider lunchtime arrangements already in place.

04

Develop

We review how the provision is working and adapt activities as pupils, seasons and school priorities change.

FLEXIBLE PROVISION

Your Playground Isn't Generic.
Your Provision Shouldn't Be Either.

Playground sizes, pupil numbers, facilities and lunchtime structures vary enormously between schools. We can shape the provision around the environment we're actually working in.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A Few Things
You Might Ask.

What does lunchtime provision involve? +

Schoolz Out can provide structured activities during the lunchtime period, including active games, sport-based activities, playground challenges and other opportunities designed around your pupils and available spaces.

Does this replace our existing lunchtime staff? +

The exact arrangement would be agreed with your school. Our provision can work alongside your existing lunchtime structure, adding organised activities and additional engagement for children.

Do children have to take part? +

The aim is to create activities children want to join. Provision can sit alongside other lunchtime choices so children continue to have opportunities for free play and social time.

Can you work with different year groups? +

Yes. The provision can be planned around different year groups, playground areas and school arrangements so the activities are appropriate for the children involved.

What happens when the weather is poor? +

This depends on the spaces available within your school. Where suitable indoor areas are available, alternative activities can be discussed as part of the provision plan.

Can lunchtime provision work alongside your other services? +

Yes. Lunchtime provision can sit alongside services such as PE and PPA cover, after school clubs and wraparound care, allowing schools to work with Schoolz Out across more of the school day.
